Cape Town City winger Ayanda Patosi says his spirit and confidence is on a high ahead of the MTN8 final against SuperSport United on Saturday, writes DYLAN APPOLIS.
The 25-year-old starred as the Citizens fought back from two goals down with a great second-half performance to take a point off Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night, with Patosi netting a seven-minute brace.
However, the former Lokeren attacker will be hoping he can maintain his current form and take that same form into the top eight final on Saturday.
‘It gave me some confidence to take to the final. Also for the rest of the players‚ to come from 2-0 down in Orlando and push hard to draw the game‚’ Patosi told the media. ‘It gives us all confidence and lifts our spirits.’
‘And‚ obviously‚ the atmosphere in the dressing room is a lot different to what it was when we lost 4-1 to Kaizer Chiefs. At least now we are ready for the final.’
The Bafana Bafana winger has already made seven appearances in all competitions while scoring two goals in the process, but is yet to be determined on whether or not he gets the nob for the final by coach Benni McCarthy.
The match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium kicks off at 7pm.
