Orlando Pirates have confirmed captain Innocent Maela remains doubtful for their upcoming MTN8 final clash against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.
The Buccaneers will look to successfully defend their MTN8 title when they take on Sundowns at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday evening.
However, they will be without captain Maela for the clash as he continues to recover and nurse his way back to full fitness from his injury.
Meanwhile, Khuliso Mudau and Mothobi Mvala returns from suspension for Sundowns while Rushine de Reuck returns from injury.
Orlando Pirates have since released the following statement ahead of the MTN8 final:
“Sundowns have been boosted by the return of defender Rushine de Reuck, who has been declared fit following an injury that kept him out of action in the early part of the season.”
“Meanwhile, Khuliso Mudau and Mothobi Mvala are again eligible for selection after missing out on the semifinal second-leg clash against Chiefs through suspension.
“Pirates have received a boost of their own in terms of technical personnel as assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi returns from suspension, while captain Innocent Maela remains doubtful after being sidelined over the past month.”
