Orlando Pirates coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has revealed that the Buccaneers will use the MTN8 as a catalyst to greater success this season.
After a turbulent couple of seasons at the club, Sredojevic came in and steadied the ship in their last campaign by guiding the side to a second place Absa Premiership finish.

After last season’s growth under Sredojevic, Pirates will undoubtedly be looking to add some silverware this season, hopefully beginning with the MTN8 title.
The Sea Robbers will begin their MTN8 journey when they host SuperSport United at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday evening and the Serbian tactician revealed in the build-up to the game that he is looking to use the competition as springboard for his side.
‘Last year‚ it was a soul-healing season and I think the soul has been healed‚’ said the Pirates coach.
‘However‚ the soul cannot function without food. From a mental and tactical perspective‚ we’re looking at this tournament as a springboard that could push us into the season.

‘What can also be satisfying is to see player’s body language from a physical and mental perspective when they have given their all and that’s what we’ll expect on Saturday.
‘The game on Saturday is a challenge that we’re looking forward to and one we’ll approach with ambition.’
Orlando Pirates and SuperSport will do battle in the MTN 8 quarter-finals at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday. Kick-off is set for 8:30pm.
