Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro has praised his attacking players after they helped his side come from behind to secure a win over Stellenbosch FC.
The Buccaneers came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Stellies after Zakhele Lepasa and Deon Hotto cancelled out Olivier Toure’s 51st-minute opener at Athlone Stadium.
Pirates will now go into the second leg with a one-goal lead over Stellies when the two sides meet at the Orlando Stadium on September 24.
Riveiro says his side have already begun their preparations for the second leg as they look to earn their place in the final of the top eight competition.
“Look, we have a lot of talented players, our forward players they are all very well educated in football, technically, tactically, so they all managed to create a lot of situations, we finished the game with a hell of talent upfront,” Riveiro told SuperSport TV after the game.
“So it’s normal, they are comfortable on the ball, they like what we do and we just have to continue.
“No, we have to win the game in Orlando, that’s the task, that’s a mission for us as team, to win the second one not thinking we’re in advantage because if we do, you can find yourself in a difficult situation within the game and we don’t want to be there.
“But still three weeks to go, we have to prepare other games before, so this is just the first-leg, we have to complete now in Orlando.”
