SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo has hailed his side’s victory over Absa Premiership log leaders Bidvest Wits ahead of their MTN8 semi-final against Kaizer Chiefs.
SuperSport lost their first Absa Premiership game of the season 2-0 against Cape Town City FC in the Mother City.

They, however, bounced back from that defeat with 1-0 victories over AmaZulu and Wits either side of their penalty-shoot-out victory over Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 quarter-finals.
Speaking after the victory over Wits, Tembo praised his teams progress after their false start against City.
‘I’m happy because I see progress in the team. From day one we had a false start against Cape Town City but since that game, we have been improving as a team, and I’m very happy about that.
‘We are playing as a unit and we are playing well as a team. We had a few chances, only the final pass especially in the final third [needed improvement].’
Tembo added that victory over the impressive Clever Boys has helped boost their confidence but has also added extra pressure ahead of their MTN8 semi-final against Kaizer Chiefs.

‘It’s a morale-booster. I think it gave us a little bit less pressure in terms of us preparing for the MTN8, and after that, we play Chippa United.
‘We are trying to put more emphasis in league matches as well, as we don’t want to see what happened to us last season,’ he concluded, making reference to last season’s relegation scrap.
SuperSport face Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday afternoon in the semi-final first leg of the MTN8 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium, with kick-off set for 3pm.
