Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat has admitted that his side will need to be on top of their game if they want to overcome Chippa United in this weekend’s Nedbank Cup semi-final.

The Chilli Boys will welcome Amakhosi to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday, and despite their lowly league position, Chippa will be looking to upset the apple cart yet again in this season’s Nedbank Cup.

Chippa have already knocked out Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits, and Billiat has admitted that his side are aware of the threat that their opposition will pose.

‘They are a very good team. They know how to keep the ball and are good on a counter-attack. They have good individual players who can turn things around at any time,’ Billiat told The Citizen.

‘I just feel it is one of the games that we have to go into wanting it more than them – it’s not going to be easy. But I believe in the team we have, and if we are on top of our game, we can get something out of it,’ he added.

Billiat is the leading marksman at Naturena this season after netting 13 goals in all competitions, but he does believe that the Chiefs forward line need to be more critical.

‘As strikers, we haven’t been scoring as much as we would have wanted. We are trying to work on our combinations so we can create more chances and score more goals.

‘We are trying to give each other confidence and support one another to make sure everyone given a chance gets on the scoresheet,’ he concluded.
