Chippa United were the final team to secure their place in the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup after they defeated Polokwane City 3-1 on penalties at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Rise and Shine opened the score as early as the second minute when Francis Baloyi latched on to a loose ball before slotting the ball past Chippa goalkeeper Stanley Nwabili to make it 1-0.

The Chilli Boys drew the game level in 12 the minute when Thabiso Lebitso somehow fired the ball past goalkeeper Manuel Sapunga at the near post from a tight angle.

Neither side could be separated after 120 minutes of play as the game had to be settled in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 scoreline after extra time.

It was Chippa who came out victorious in the penalty shootout after they clinched a 3-1 win at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium to book their place in the next round as the final team to qualify for the last 16.
