Baroka's Albert Mothupa challenged by Platinum Stars' Ryan De Jongh

Platinum Stars assistant coach Alan Clark insists that Dikwena are looking forward to their upcoming clash against Baroka in the Nedbank Cup on Tuesday.

Since the beginning of the season, Dikwena and Baroka have met three times, with the promoted side having won two in the Absa Premiership and the Telkom Knockout.

Cavin Johnson’s side are now keen to set the record straight and advance to the next round of the Nedbank Cup.

The club’s assistant coach admits that the players are relishing the chance to advance to the next round of the Nedbank Cup when they face a confident Baroka side.

‘This is an opportunity for us. I think the players are excited,’ Clark told the Platinum Stars Twitter account.

‘We have to be at our best in order to shrug off Baroka, who won’t be lacking in confidence after a win over SuperSport United.’

Dikwena made their way to the next round of the competition after they beat AmaZulu 3-2 at the Moruleng Stadium when goals by Mbongeni Mzimela, Robert Ng’ambi and Henrico Botes cancelled out goals by Samuel Darpoh and Boysen Mbatha.

Meanwhile, Bakgaga advanced to the Last 16 following their 2-0 victory over National First Division side FC Cape Town at the NNK Rugby Stadium through goals by Ndivhuwo Ravhuhali and Richard Matloga.

Platinum Stars will now take on Baroka in the Nedbank Cup round of 16 when the two sides go head-to-head on Tuesday.

The match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
