Cape Town City has been handed a boost by Matthew Rusike’s return to fitness ahead of their Nedbank Cup clash against Orlando Pirates on Wednesday.
Rusike picked up an injury last month against Bidvest Wits but now the forward will be available when the Citizens face Pirates for a place in the Nedbank Cup quarter-final when the two side’s meet at Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday.
City’s chairman John Comitis revealed that Mpho Matsi will continue to mend his injury while Rusike returns to the first team.
‘It’ll be a huge game on Wednesday. I think it’s all going to depend on who is best on the day. But we have prepared well and we haven’t skimped on anything; we are ready,’ Comitis told IOL.
‘Except for Mpho Matsi, there is a fit squad to pick from. Matthew Rusike is back in contention and there is a strong possibility that Masoud Juma will be available as well.’
The match at Cape Town Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
