Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Hendrick Ekstein says he expects a difficult game against Baroka when the two sides meet in the Nedbank Cup quarter-final on Saturday.

The 27-year-old will be hoping the Glamour Boys can book their place in the semi-final of the competition in the hope of ending their trophy drought.

‘It has been two seasons without winning any silverware,’ Ekstein told his club’s official website. ‘We don’t want to be remembered as players that didn’t bring any trophies to the club.

‘I have watched Baroka recently and they continue to play well. They have some good players and they play good football. It promises to be a difficult match, but I trust that we will win.’

The attacking midfielder admits that Baroka won’t be a walk in the park, but he is confident that Amakhosi’s hard work will pay off.

‘That they beat us previously in history now. We won 2-1 the last time we faced them,’ he added.

‘The mood in the camp is great. I am working hard and promise to work even harder for the team.

‘It is not going to be an easy match against Baroka. But we have prepared well. We definitely want to win this trophy, because we want to leave a legacy and create our own history.’

The match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium kicks off at 20:15.
