Bloemfontein Celtic defender Lorenzo Gordinho says his side are determined to redeem themselves against Maritzburg United and advance to a Nedbank Cup semi-final, writes DYLAN APPOLIS.
Siwelele made their way into the last eight of the competition after claiming a 3-1 victory over NFD outfit Richards Bay in the previous round when goals from Mpho Maruping, Neo Maema and Kabelo Dlamini cancelled out Thabiso Nkoana’s late consolation goal.
The Gauteng-born defender says his side will head into their quarter-final encounter with the intention of winning and advancing to the next round after suffering a 4-0 defeat the last time the two sides met in the Absa Premiership.
‘The mood for the game against Maritzburg has been good thus far and the guys are motivated and ready for the game, we want to proceed to the next round,’ Gordinho said.
‘We are preparing the same as we would but obviously, things have changed from our last encounter with them and we are looking to have a better performance.
‘We are going to approach the game with the intent to win and proceed.’
Celtic will travel to the Harry Gwala Stadium when they take on Maritzburg in the quarter-final of the Nedbank Cup on Saturday, with kick-off set for 3:30pm.
