Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande believes converting their chances has been their biggest problem for the past three seasons.

The Glamour Boys journey in the Nedbank Cup ended after they were beaten 2-0 by Free State Stars in the semi-final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium through a brace from Harris Tchilimbou.

Katsande believes their major downfall for the past three seasons has been their lack of potency in from of goal.

‘It’s tough, the gods aren’t smiling on us as you can see. We concede goals in critical phases of which we should’ve dealt with better. They got two chances and converted, us we got many and didn’t convert,’ Komphela told SuperSport TV after the game.

‘It’s been our problem the past three seasons that we are not converting chances by doing that, one mistake at the back and we lose matches.’

The 32-year-old insists Amakhosi will continue t0 grow and work towards improving their chances in the final third.

‘At the end of the day, life has to go on [and] there’s nothing we can do whatever happened. We can only react what’s going to happen tomorrow. We just need to go back to the drawing [board] and correct one or two things,’ he added.

‘We knew even if we win the cup there were going to be changes. Obviously, the management is going to work on rectifying one or two mistakes.

‘I think we need to convert our chances because you could see we have got a young team whereby they are growing and are learning from this big mistake and obviously come next season they know how it is going how it is to play for Kaizer Chiefs.’

Kaizer Chiefs will now turn their attention to the Absa Premiership when they take on Golden Arrows at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Tuesday, with kick-off set for 7:30pm
