Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela believes that his side knows the weakness and strengths of Free State Stars heading into their Nedbank Cup semi-final this weekend, writes DEAN WORKMAN.
The Amakhosi have not won silverware in three years ― the entirety of Komphela’s reign ― and will be desperate to progress into the final and have a chance of saving their season.
The former Maritzburg United coach believes that his side will come up against an opponent which they know well.
Speaking to the media on Thursday ahead of the clash, Komphela said: ‘It’s a difficult one, but the beauty of it is that we have played them in the league, we know exactly their weaknesses and strengths. The same goes with us.
‘But cup matches, you know how they are. They will bring their best performance. I remember in the Telkom Cup [Telkom Knockout] as well, we suffered a set back from them under rainy conditions.
‘We looking forward to a great match, but the most important for us is that we go through to the final.’
Kaizer Chiefs will take on Free State Stars in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals at the Moses Mabida Stadium on Saturday, with kickoff at 8:15 pm.
