Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela says he was delighted with Amakhosi’s performance but insists they have to build on it and move on.
The Glamour Boys advanced to the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup after claiming a comfortable 3-0 victory over Golden Arrows at the FNB Stadium on Sunday.
Komphela feels his side needs to play with more confidence after giving possession away cheaply on numerous occasions, but admits he is happy with their overall performance.
‘Two different halves. We’re happy with our performance and goals we scored. Compliments should not only go to Itu (Itumeleng Khune) but the rest of the team,’ Komphela told SuperSport TV after the game.
‘Though we gave the ball away cheaply in some instances and we need to improve on that.
‘We need to play with more confidence because when you play with confidence it makes you make less erratic mistakes, but we’re happy with this result and let’s build on it and move on.’
Kaizer Chiefs will now turn their attention back to the Absa Premiership when they welcome Cape Town City to the FNB Stadium on Saturday, with kick-off set for 20:00.
