Mamelodi Sundowns defender Motjeka Madisha has shifted his focus to their mouth-watering clash with Orlando Pirates following his Man of the Match performance against Highlands Park.

The 25-year-old played a starring role to help Sundowns advance to the Nedbank Cup semi-finals after they beat the Lions of the North 1-0 at the Makhulong Stadium on Saturday.

The Brazilians will now take on Bidvest Wits for a place in the final of the competition, following the conclusion of the semi-final draw on Sunday evening.

However, Madisha, who secured his second consecutive Man of the Match award, admits their games against Stellenbosch FC and Highlands weren’t easy but wants his side to focus on their clash with the Buccaneers on Tuesday.

‘Both games were tough from my side, I think we did our level best, we should just focus on our next game, which is Orlando Pirates. So, now I just want to go home and rest,’ Madisha told SuperSport TV post-game.

‘The coach told us that we don’t have to go to extra time [but] you can’t predict what’s gonna happen, so we just have to keep on going. So, now it’s time go home and rest.

‘It’s all about how much you want it, if you really want to succeed in life you have to put in more work, so whatever comes [your way] you have to take it. I chose to be a footballer, so I have to gel, whatever comes I must go.

‘I’d like to thank the coaches and the management, the president of the team for always believing in us, for giving us the opportunity to play for Mamelodi Sundowns, so this award goes to my teammates and my coaches. I’m happy with the win.’
