Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp has confirmed that Khama Billiat and new signing Anthony Akumu will be part of the match-day squad against Royal Eagles.
The Glamour Boys are set to welcome the GladAfrican Championship side to the FNB Stadium in a round-of-32 clash of the Nedbank Cup on Saturday.
Billiat recently returned to training after spending time on the sidelines with a niggling hamstring injury. He last played for the Soweto giants against Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium on 22 December.
Meanwhile, Akumu joined Chiefs during the January transfer window and came in to replace the departed James Kotei after signing a three-and-a-half-year contract Amakhosi.
However, Middendorp has since said he will keep the core of his squad that edged Golden Arrows 1-0 in their last game, while adding Billiat and Akumu to his match-day squad.
‘Khama Billiat and Akumu will be part of the match-day squad for the game against Royal Eagles and we will take it from there,’ Middendorp told his club’s official website.
‘We will also keep a core of our players who regularly play, because we want them to remain match fit. This is a good competitive game for them to be part of.’
The match at the FNB Stadium is scheduled to kick off at 6pm.
