Orlando Pirates midfielder Abbubaker Mobara says the Buccaneers will be hoping to redeem themselves when they take on SuperSport United in the Nedbank Cup finals on Saturday.

When the two sides last met in the Nedbank Cup finals, Matsatsantsa edged Pirates to secure a 3-2 win and claim their fourth trophy in the competition.

After returning from national duty with Bafana Bafana, Mobara insists that the Buccaneers are eager to clinch the trophy, having last won it in 2014.

‘Well, when I came back from the national team camp, I saw a team that want to win the Nedbank Cup,’ Mobara told the media.

‘The spirit is positive inside the camp and the attitude at training has been good. We are all hungry to do well on Saturday.’

The 23-year-old says his side are hoping to redeem themselves after their unsuccessful Absa Premiership campaign, which saw them finish 11th in the League standing, and finishing outside the top eight for the first time since the PSL’s inception in 1996.

‘Look we did not have a good season, and we see this Cup as an opportunity to redeem ourselves by winning it.’

‘We don’t fear SuperSport United. We are going out there to win the trophy and I think every player believes that we can do it,’ he concluded.

Orlando Pirates will now take on SuperSport United in the Nedbank Cup finals on Saturday.

The match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium kicks off at 20:15.
