Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has praised AmaTuks coach Tlisane Motaung as “one of the most promising coaches in the country”.
The Brazilians have been drawn against the Motsepe Foundation Champions outfit in the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup following the conclusion of the Round of 16 on Sunday.
The Brazilians advanced to this stage of the competition after they defeated Maritzburg United 2-0 thanks to a brace by Thembinkosi Lorch at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday evening.
AmaTuks, meanwhile, booked their place after they edged out Moroka Swallows 2-1 after Tebogo Mohlamonyane and Thabang Sibanyoni cancelled out a goal by Lwanda Mbanjwa at the Tuks Stadium last Wednesday.
Mokwena has since lauded the AmaTuks coach for the development and work he has done to improve his squad.
“I’m quite fond of coach Tlisane Motaung. I’ve seen him come through the ranks as a youth coach and in the varsity leagues,” Mokwena told his club’s official website.
“He’s done an incredible job to fight and develop to become one of the promising coaches in the country. I watched his team against Swallows and I thought they were worthy winners.
“They’ve got very good players, the likes of, Thabang Sibanyoni upfront, Camagu Mdevulana in the midfield as well as Promise Mkhuma.
“These are the players that I know very well. We saw against Maritzburg United how aggressive and physical these games can be and I expect nothing different against AmaTuks.”
