Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane admits that although they got what they wanted by drawing lower-division Vaal University of Technology in the Nedbank Cup, his team still need to be careful.
The Brazilians edged rivals SuperSport United 1-0 on Saturday evening to seal their progression to the last 16 of the competition.
In the buildup to the game, Mosimane jokingly said that his side also want an easy draw instead of having to play against Absa Premiership sides such as Matsatsantsa.
The Downs coach, though, got what he wished for when the draw was concluded on Monday evening and his team pitted against VUT, from the fourth tier of professional football in the SAB League.
Speaking after the conclusion, Mosimane said that although they got the draw they wanted, he is still wary of VUT after they defeated Golden Arrows over the weekend.
‘Yes, we got the draw [for] VUT and, ja, we have been asking for a team from the lower level,’ said Mosimane.
‘We got it, but you need to be careful for what you asked for because you could get the shock of your life. As much as they are there [SAB League] if they could eliminate Golden Arrows, a team in the Premier League, then it means they are a good team.
‘As much as we think we got a relief, we have to be careful about teams in the lower leagues,’ concluded the former Bafana Bafana coach.
