Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane admits that he will not take Vaal University lightly after they eliminated Golden Arrows from the Nedbank Cup.
The Brazilians were pitted against VUT in the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup at the draw held on Monday evening.
Sundowns made their way to this stage of the competition after edging Tshwane rivals SuperSport United 1-0 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium over the weekend.
VUT, meanwhile, stunned Arrows in a tense penalty shootout at the Dobsonville Stadium to book their place in the round of 16.
Mosimane has warned his side not to underestimate Vaal University as he believes they can cause a big upset in the tournament.
‘We have been waiting for an opponent in the lower divisions and we finally got it. You need to be careful what you ask for, because you will get the shock of your life,’ Mosimane told his club’s official website.
‘The fact they eliminated Golden Arrows, a premier league team, means they are a good team. We think we have got a relief but we need to be careful.’
