Defending champions Orlando Pirates cruised into the next round of the Nedbank Cup after they hammered Crystal Lake 6-0 in the last 32 at the Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga.
The Safa Ehlanzeni Regional Men’s League outfit got off to the worse possible start when Adam Khumalo deflected the ball into his own net to hand Pirates the lead just after four minutes.
Pirates doubled their lead four minutes later after they were awarded a penalty. Tapelo Xoki stepped up and made no mistake from the stop to beat Excellent Mkhonto in goal for the home side.
Pirates added their third goal in the 11th minute after Relebohile Mofokeng beat Mkhonto from a tight angle to score his first goal for the Soweto giants.
The Buccaneers continued to dominate the game and added a four-goal in the 33rd minute with a superb finish from Patrick Maswanganyi to hand Pirates a 4-0 lead into the half time break.
Pirates came out guns blazing in the second half and made it 5-0 in the 51st minute when Xoki completed his brace when he rose highest to head the ball home from a corner.
Tshegofatso Mabasa found off the scoring for Pirates with 11 minutes left to player when he guided his header home at the near post
The Soweto giants held on to the comfortable lead until the final whistle to secure their place in the next round of the Nedbank Cup.
