Nedbank Cup Trophy

The Premier Soccer League has confirmed that the draw for the Nedbank Cup semi-final will be conducted on Monday evening.

With four teams left in the competition, the venue that will host the finals will also be announced ahead of the semi-final draw.

The draw will be conducted by PSL’s Luxolo September, assisted by Thulani Sibeko from Nedbank and PSL’s Prof Ronnie Schloss.

Matsatsantsa are favourites to win back-to-back honours, after they beat the Buccaneers 3-2 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium to clinch their fourth Nedbank Cup trophy.

Defending champions SuperSport United made their way into the final four, after they beat 13-time winners Kaizer Chiefs 5-3 on penalties at the FNB Stadium.

Orlando Pirates progressed to the next round when goals by Abbubaker Mobara and Thamsanqa Gabuza cancelled out Kabelo Mahlasela’s 87th minute equaliser, to clinch a 2-1 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic in extra time at the Orlando Stadium.

Meanwhile, a Lerato Manzini strike proved to be the difference at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, after Chippa United secured a narrow 1-0 win over Jomo Cosmos.

Platinum Stars were eliminated from the competition after they fell to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Golden Arrows, courtesy of a 40th minute goal by Musa Bilankulu at the Princess Magogo Stadium.
