Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Dillon Sheppard says they will enter their Nedbank Cup last 16 clash against Casric Stars fully focused on walking away with a positive result.

The Glamour Boys are set to welcome the Motsepe Foundations Championship side to the FNB Stadium when the two sides square off on Sunday afternoon.

Amakhosi made their way to this stage of the competition after they defeated Maritzburg United 2-0 at the Harry Gwala Stadium through goals from Christian Basomboli and Ashley Du Preez.

Meanwhile, Stars reached this stage of the competition with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Mkhambathi FC courtesy of a brace by Kgomotso Mosadi and goals from Mumuni Abubakar and Siyabonga Nkosi, respectively.

“You don’t want to look to the past. We are looking ahead. If you take the Richards Bay game, it’s a totally different squad and we have to look towards the opposition we have to face,” Sheppard told his club’s official website.

“The guys are focused on that, not on what happened before.

“Since the draw we have obviously been monitoring them. We have seen one or two of their performances which has given us an opportunity to analyse them, so we have a little bit of information but I think the main focus will be on us and how we set up.

“Inasmuch as it’s helpful to know about our opponent, we still have to go out there and play our game.”
