Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango says they’re relying on their faithful fans to come out in number to support them when they face Sekhukhune United in the Nedbank Cup.

The Brazilians will look to bounce back after conceding a 2-1 defeat to Orlando Pirates in their previous match before the FIFA international break.

Sundowns will now shift their focus to their upcoming quarter-final fixture against Sekhukhune when the two sides square off at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Friday evening.

Onyango wished they had enough time to prepare for the encounter coming back from the international, but he has urged the fans to come out in numbers to support the Tshwane giants.

“The preparations are going well. Of course, we would have loved to play a couple of weeks back,” Onyango told his club’s official website.

“Once again, we are looking forward to the game, even though some guys were in their respective national teams, they will come and join us in the last stages of preparing for this game.

“To our faithful supporters, please come out in numbers on Friday night to support the boys.

“We need to go all the way to the final of the Nedbank Cup and we are relying on your support to make it happen. Please come and paint the Lucas Moripe Stadium Yellow.”
