The Magic FC captain Tshepiso Tlhapi admits that his side didn’t need any motivation to play against a team of Kaizer Chiefs’ calibre.
The Cape Town-based outfit’s run in the Nedbank Cup came to an end after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Amakhosi in Port Elizabeth on Sunday afternoon.
Daniel Cardoso, Philani Zulu and Khama Billiat found the back of the net for the Amakhosi in extra time to eliminate the ABC Motsepe League side at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
Tlhapi, who was named Man of the Match, says he was pleased with his side’s overall performance despite the outcome of the match.
‘I think everyone did his best, you don’t need motivation to play against Kaizer Chiefs,’ Tlhapi told SuperSport TV after the match.
‘Chiefs are [one of] the biggest teams in the country. We put in the hard work at training, we were looking forward to this game.
‘They [Chiefs] are human beings, same us, that’s why we kept on going until the last moment and we gave it away.’
