Bloemfontein Celtic coach Lehlohonolo Seema felt his side should’ve have walked away with all three points against Orlando Pirates after their impressive performance at the Dr Molemela Stadium on Saturday.

Gabadinho Mhango opened their scoring in the first half for the Buccaneers before Siphelele Luthuli found a late equaliser to secure a point for Celtic.

The draw sees Celtic occupy 10th place with 18 points, while Pirates are placed fifth with 21 points from 15 matches played so far this season.

‘Like I said before the match, when we looked at their line-up we could see that they were not gonna be looking for any combination play, they are just gonna put us under pressure and play those balls behind us, on the right side of us, that’s where they were overloading,’ Seema told SuperSport TV.

‘That’s where the goal came, we knew that ‘Gaba’ [Mhango] will come there, we worked with the guys but if you concede a goal that you worked on, you knew what was gonna happen…

‘But there was nothing much after half-time, we told them [players] at half-time that they [Pirates] are leading, they are not winning because we could see that before they scored, we had clear chances that we could have used,’ he went on.

‘We told them that, “let’s get our minds ready, let’s defend better chances will come” but you could see that [Harris] Tchilimbou was not giving us the energy that we wanted and we had to bring in [Andile] Fikizolo to put pressure.

‘We saw that now they are sitting back, they are waiting again, we put on Sera [Motebang] and Victor [Letsoalo] and it paid off, in the end we could have won it, they had chances but I think we had more chances than them.

‘It’s a big point for us, we’re coming from two losses back-to-back and we start building, we gained a point, from then on we go further, we have another big one on Tuesday we’re playing Stellenbosch away we will try to get three points there, if we can’t, we’re not losing any points!

‘A point for us is good against Pirates, we take it. For them [players] to put a performance like this in holiday times I have to compliment them, with the second, third and fourth game we’ll get there also [with match-sharpness],’ he concluded.
