Ajax Cape Town head of medical, Jantho Greyling, confirmed that duo Rivaldo Coetzee and Mosa Lebusa have returned to full training following their respective injuries.
The Urban Warriors are now set to take on Free State Stars in their next Absa Premiership encounter at Athlone Stadium on Friday, after being eliminated from the Nedbank Cup at the hands of lower league side KwaDukuza United.
Ajax are currently placed 12th on the Absa Premiership standings with 20 points, and have won only five of 20 matches played so far this season, while Ea Lla Koto sits in 14th position with 18 points, having won four matches out of 20 played.
Greyling confirmed that Coetzee has successfully recovered from an ankle knock and he has been included in the South African team for back-to-back international friendly matches against Guinea-Bissau and Angola.
‘Rivaldo has recovered from an ankle injury he picked up, and he has been in training for the last couple of days,’ Greyling told the Ajax Cape Town website.
‘Obviously, he will be ready to play against Free State Stars and then go on to Bafana Bafana to honour the call-up he received.’
Meanwhile, Ajax head coach Stanley Menzo will be boosted by the return of Lebusa, who has fully recovered from an ankle injury after returning to training ahead of their match against Stars.
‘Mosa Lebusa is also back, he has been training for the past few days,’ he added.
‘He has recovered from the ankle injury he picked up in training before the SuperSport match, but he has been in training for the past few days and he is also fit to play against Free State Stars.’
Ajax Cape Town will now welcome Free State Stars to Athlone Stadium when the two sides meet in the Absa Premiership on Friday.
Kick-off has been set for 20:00.
