Ajax Cape Town's Travis Graham

Ajax Cape Town captain Travis Graham has reportedly been told to train on his own, after his refusal to sign a new contract with his boyhood club.

Graham has not featured in any of Stanley Menzo’s sides’ pre-season friendlies, after entering into discussions with the Urban Warriors in a bid to leave the club.

The 24-year-old revealed that he is making an attempt to be ‘professional about matters’, despite being on the end of some harsh treatment by the club.

‘I’m working closely with the club to find out the best way forward for both parties,’ he told KickOff.

‘I’m still being very professional about matters, as I’m still contracted to the club.

‘I’m coming to training as per normal. I have massive respect for the club and everyone here.

‘The last thing I want to do, is to burn bridges with them,’ he concluded.

Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt is said to a be a keen admirer of the central midfielder, and with Graham previously linked with a move to SuperSport United, it appears likely that he will end his 15-year tenure with the Ikamva-based outfit.

He initially arrived at the club as a nine-year-old, and made his way through the youth ranks at Ajax, graduating to the first team in 2012.

Graham was handed the captain’s armband in his third season at Ajax and has amassed over 100 appearances for the club in all competitions.
