Cape Town Spurs coach Shaun Bartlett says he is expecting a “tough” battle in their final PSL Promotion play-off clash against Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The Urban Warriors will head into this fixture sitting at the top of the log with nine points, having won all three matches in the playoffs.
Maritzburg, meanwhile, currently occupies second place in the playoffs log with six points after claiming two wins and one defeat in three matches.
Bartlett believes that the Team of Choice are under a lot of pressure to deliver a positive result while his side just has to avoid a defeat in order to gain promotion to the top-flight.
“Going into our last game with Maritzburg at Harry Gwala, it’s a do-or-die situation for both teams,” Bartlett said.
“The upper hand that we have is the points in the bag, so all we have to do is avoid defeat in our match. That doesn’t mean we are going to sit back. We are going with the same attitude and intentions we had in the previous game, which is taking the game to them
“They are playing at home, so they will be under pressure from their home fans to push a bit more and hopefully give us more space to go and attack.”
