SuperSport United coach Stuart Baxter says his side will have to bounce back from their 1-0 loss against Mamelodi Sundowns and give it their all in their remaining Absa Premiership encounters.
Matsatsantsa’s title aspirations were dealt a blow when they were condemned to defeat against Sundowns on Wednesday night following Hlompho Kekaha’s late solitary strike.
Stuart Baxter’s side currently occupy fifth spot on the table with 37 points from their 23 matches played thus far in the campaign and find themselves nine points adrift of log-leaders, Cape Town City.
The former Bafana Bafana mentor highlighted that his side have a number of tough encounters ahead of them which includes facing fellow title-contenders Bidvest Wits, Kaizer Chiefs and Cape Town City,.
‘We’ve just got big ones now, we only have big ones,’ he said after the loss against Sundowns.
Baxter also touched on the injury sustained by Kingston Nkhatha following a tangle with defender Motjeka Madisha.
‘We will have to see how Kingston is because they on the injury list, but again we have to lick our wounds and sharpen our knifes and go back unperturbed.
‘We going to make sure that we run this season out as best we can and we have important games.
‘You never know, there’s twists in the tale, sometimes maybe maybe we can get ourselves back in the back door,’ he concluded.
SuperSport turn their attention to the Nedbank Cup where they will face Kaizer Chiefs in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
Kick-off at the FNB Stadium is set for 18:00.
