Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic has revealed how Marvel Comics movie Black Panther helped them secure their victory over Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto derby.
A brace by substitute Luvuyo Memela and a further striker by Thembinkosi Lorch saw Pirates run out 3-1 victors at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Micho, who outsmarted opposite number Steve Komphela, admits that he was pleased to secure his first victory against Chiefs and said that it was a culmination of the hard work that they put in the week prior to the derby.
‘It was a dream finish to the week, where we really took care of all the details,’ he said in post-match comments.
‘I want to give credit… I’m here in front of you, but I want you to see my brother Rhulani [Mokwena] and other members of the technical team, together with all the players that represented.
‘We worked very hard throughout the week. On Tuesday, we went for a team building aspect and watched the Black Panther film.
‘We, as a sports brand, are represented in that historical African film [through the crossbones sign], and it was a special injection of motivation to us to go and prove a point [against Chiefs],’ he concluded.
