Kaizer Chiefs defender Njabulo Blom has his sights set on winning the Absa Premiership title with the Soweto giants this season.
The Glamour Boys recently stretched their winning run to seven games in the league after their comfortable 4-0 victory over Stellenbosch FC at Cape Town Stadium last weekend.
Amakhosi have also extended their lead at the top of the league standings to 10 points over rivals Mamelodi Sundowns, who currently occupy second place.
Blom says he is blessed to be a part of the current crop of Amakhosi players, who have only suffered one defeat from 12 matches played in the league so far this season.
‘It’s really a blessing to be part of the Chiefs team, I have learned a lot since I started being part of the squad. I have also learned a lot from the guys here because we all have one common goal, which is to see Kaizer Chiefs succeeding,’ he added.
‘I think we have been doing quite well this season, especially in the league. Our major plan is to win the league. We are disappointed with what has happened in the past.
‘Now we are aiming for bigger things. Everyone at Chiefs is hungry for success, it’s a pity we didn’t do well in the Telkom Knockout. But such is football and disappointments will always be there. We just need to pick ourselves up and go on to win our next games.’
Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping to continue their winning run when they welcome Bloemfontein Celtic to the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, with kick-off set for 8:15pm.
