SuperSport United striker Jeremy Brockie says he is devasted after suffering an infection in his elbow and has since undergone surgery.
The 29-year-old is expected to be out of action for at least two weeks after being hospitalised with olecranon bursitis.
The New Zealand striker expressed his disappointed at being sidelined so close to the second half of the Absa Premiership season.
‘So after waking up [on] Monday morning in Nelspruit with a world of pain in my elbow and swollen like a golf ball [and] a couple of nights in hospital, I transferred back to Joburg and to great disappointment I had an infection in my bursa and needed an op to get it cut out,’ Brockie post on his official Instagram account.
‘Devastated being too close to the season starting back up. In a splint for 10-14 days and then I’ll be back on the pitch with the boys to try help to achieve our goals for the rest of the year!
‘Thanks to everyone for the support. Feel for my beautiful wife but lucky I’ in good hands with her and my two little ones.’
