Orlando Pirates have confirmed that their Absa Premiership clash against Bidvest Wits on 25 April will be played behind closed doors.

The news comes after the Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee handed down its sanctions against the Buccaneers following the crowd violence during their 6-0 thumping against Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Stadium on 11 February 2017.

The PSL DC sanctioned the Buccaneers by ordering that the club to play two home matches behind closed doors.

The Disciplinary Committee sanctioned Orlando Pirates by ordering the club play two home matches in a closed stadium. The implementation of one of these matches has been suspended for a period 24 months.

Pirates were also ordered to pay the costs of the sittings of the Disciplinary Committee.

However, fan who have already bought their tickets for the encounter will be refunded, according to the Soweto giants.

Orlando Pirates will be hoping to close the gap at the top of the Absa Premiership standings when they welcome the defending champions to the Orlando Stadium on 25 April, with kick-off set for 19:30.
