Cape Town City have confirmed that Riyaad Norodien and Mark Mayambela have been released by the club, while winger Shaquille Abrahams has joined Cape Umoya FC on loan until the end of the season.
Norodien joined the Citizens from Orlando Pirates in 2018 where he made 20 appearances under Benni McCarthy in the 2018-19 season.
Since McCarthy’s departure, after a poor run which brought City perilously close to the bottom of the Absa Premiership log, the 24-year-old has struggled to nail down a place in Jan Olde Riekerink’s side.
The 32-year-old Mayambela only joined the club in October 2019 after leaving Chippa United on a free in July, but he made just six appearances for the Citizens before the club decided to terminate his contract.
