Kaizer Chiefs defender Daniel Cardoso believes the fight and spirit in the team will take them far this season as they look to build on a good start.
The centre back has featured in all of Chiefs’ opening fixtures this season as Amakhosi have won three and drawn one of their opening four games, making it their best start to a season since 2014-15.
Having come from behind in a few games already this season, Cardoso believes they are ready to compete for honours this season.
‘Coming back shows we were ready for the fight and we have character. We showed the same spirit against Highlands Park. It shows that this team is about sticking together. We are ready for the fight. This fire and spirit will take us far,’ Cardoso told the club’s official website.
‘This is our best start since the 2014-15 season. Hopefully we can continue in this way. Starting strong and collecting points early on is good. We need to collect as many points as we can in the first half of the season, which will be vital for us as the season goes on.’
