Kaizer Chiefs defender Daniel Cardoso says he trusts the clubs faithfuls to come out in number to support them in the Telkom Knockout Cup this weekend.

The Glamour Boys will travel to Cape Town Stadium when they take on rivals Cape Town City in the last-16 round of the knockout tournament.

The last time the two sides met in the Mother City, Amakhosi managed to walk away with all three points after claiming a 2-1 victory over City at Newlands Stadium in August.

Meanwhile, the club’s medical team has confirmed that a number of players who were out with injury are expected to be available for selection for Saturday’s match. They include George Maluleka, Samir Nurković, Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya and Reeve Frosler.

Cardoso believes that the support the team received at Newlands Stadium in August will be vital when they take to the field on Saturday.

‘The 12th man is key for any team and we trust that the supporters will purchase their tickets early and get behind us,’ Cardoso told his club’s official website.

Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping to continue their unbeaten run when they take on Benni McCarthy’s side in the Telkom Knockout Cup on Saturday with kick off set for 3pm.
