Kaizer Chiefs have made Bafana Bafana star Keagan Dolly their top target ahead of the 2021-22 season with a deal believed to be in the works, according to reports.
Dolly is a free agent after seeing his contract run down with French club Montpellier and after attracting interest from both Europe and North Africa, it looks like a return to South Africa is on the cards.
Amakhosi were believed to be in the race to sign Luis Miquissone, a former Mamelodi Sundowns winger who shined last season for Simba SC in Tanzania, but the Mozambique forward has decided to reject a move to Naturena in favour of joining Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly.
Chiefs have now seemingly turned all their attention to trying to sign Dolly, with SoccerLaduma reporting that the 28-year-old is keen to stay in South Africa with the Glamour Boys front-runners for his signature.
Should Dolly sign for Amakhosi, it will reunite the frontline of Khama Billiat, Leonardo Casto and Dolly. The trio, once dubbed ‘CBD’, guided Sundowns to Caf Champions League glory in 2016 and will be hoping to rediscover that form.
It is believed that the Soweto giants will look to act swiftly to get a deal done, so this could develop quickly.
