Orlando Pirates have recalled defender Justice Chabalala from Chippa United as they prepare for the upcoming Absa Premiership season, according to reports.
The 25-year-old, who joined the Buccaneers from Free State Stars during the 2015-16 season, spent six months on loan at the Chilli Boys, where he made 18 appearances in all competitions.
Chabalala has since linked up with the rest of the Pirates squad for their pre-season training.
A source close to Pirates has revealed that the defender will remain at the club, while insisting that some players will be released from their contracts as they look to bolster their attack for the upcoming 2017-18 season.
‘Chabalala is back at Pirates. He is definitely staying,’ a source said.
‘The club will be releasing the names of players for transfer probably this week, with two big names among the list.’
Pirates have already been active during the transfer market, after securing the services of goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands, midfielder Thamsanqa Sangweni and Nigerian striker Christian Obiozor.
