Kaizer Chiefs has confirmed that midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala will return to training ahead of their Absa Premiership clash against Polokwane City on Saturday.
The veteran midfielder was sidelined after sustaining a strained muscle a week ago during the Absa Premiership encounter with SuperSport United at Mbombela Stadium.
Chiefs physiotherapist David Milner confirmed that Tshabalala has nursed his way back from his injury and will now return to training.
‘The injury required some rest to heal properly. He has recovered now and will resume full training on Wednesday,’ Milner told the Kaizer Chiefs website.
The technical team will monitor Tshabalala’s progress before making a decision to include him in the squad that will travel to Polokwane on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Milner also revealed that defender Sibusiso Khumalo is currently on the road to recovery after limping off the field during their Nedbank Cup quarter-final match at the FNB Stadium against Supersport United.
‘Sibusiso Khumalo is nursing a knee ligament. He will be out of action for the next ten days,’ he added.
Meanwhile, Kgotso Moleko has recovered well and has since returned to training after nursing a hamstring injury that kept him out of the side during the last three weeks.
Saturday match kicks off at 18:00 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
