According to reports, the representatives of Gavin Hunt have been seen meeting with the hierarchy of Kaizer Chiefs at their headquarters in Naturena as Amakhosi step up their search for a new coach.
Chiefs have been on the hunt for a new coach since the sacking of Ernst Middendorp, with the former Bidvest Wits coach the odd-on favourite to land the job.
Algerian coach Adel Amrouche has also been touted as a possible replacement for the German coach, who just narrowly missed out on the league title with the Soweto giants last season.
According to SoccerLaduma, who cited sources at the Village, the three-time PSL title-winning coach’s representatives were seen at the club on Wednesday afternoon, where they are believed to have had a meeting with club management.
“Gavin Hunt’s representatives were in Naturena today,” confirmed the source. “They had a meeting with the club, and that is all I can say for now,” the source added.
“He [Hunt] wasn’t there, he wouldn’t be there during this stage of the negotiations. That’s the role of an agent, to speak on behalf of his client,” concluded the source.
Hunt is back in Johannesburg after spending some time on holiday in Plettenburg Bay in the Western Cape with his family.
