Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the signing of Lebogang Manyama, who joins the Soweto giants on a free transfer after being released by Turkish side Konyaspor.
Manyama made the move to Turkey off the back of a stellar campaign in 2017 where he won numerous awards, including the Absa Premiership Footballer of the Season while playing for Cape Town City FC.

The 27-year-old midfielder, however, endured a difficult spell in Europe as he failed to make an impact at the Konya Buyuksehir Stadium and left the Turkish Super Lig outfit after making just 10 first-team appearances.
A number of big South African clubs including Mamelodi Sundowns, SuperSport United and Manyama’s former club Cape Town City FC were interested in the midfielder’s signature.
SuperSport United CEO Stanley Matthews, however, admitted that the club could not confirm Manyama’s wages.

Speaking to the Kaizer Chiefs official website Manyama said, ‘It’s a dream come true.I have supported Chiefs from a young age. I grew up on the same street as Brian Baloyi in Alexandra and that’s how I fell in love with the club.
‘I now want to help the club win trophies and to achieve glory, because that’s what the Kaizer Chiefs brand represents to me.’
