Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the departure of academy graduate Emmanuel Leltlotlo who has joined a list of seven other players who have departed Naturena this window, while the club also confirmed there will be more exits.

Chiefs have been busy in recent weeks as they look to revamp their squad following a disastrous 2018-19 season.

In order to make space for new arrivals the Soweto giants have released the likes of Pule Ekstein, Bongolethu Jayiya, Virgil Vries, Ryan Moon, Khotso Malope and Gustavo Paez, but confirmed on Wednesday that a further two players will be leaving: former youth academy graduates Emmanuel Leltlotlo and goalkeeper Brylon Petersen.

In their statement, the club also added that ‘two or more’ could still be on their way out of Naturena as they continue their overhaul ahead of the new campaign.

‘Amakhosi parted ways with no less than eight of its players in preparation of the upcoming 2019-20 season. Hendrick Ekstein, Bhongolethu Jayiya, Ryan Moon, Virgil Vries, Gustavo Páez, Khotso Malope, Emmanuel Letlotlo and Brylon Petersen have parted ways with Amakhosi for a variety of reasons,’ read the statement.

‘Meanwhile talks are proceeding for the release of two or more players. The process of rebuilding the team ahead of the new season is under way with further announcements expected in due course.’

The club also revealed that pre-season training will get under way at the Kazier Chiefs Village on Wednesday where new signing Zambian international Lazarous Kambole, who has signed a three-year deal coming from Zesco United, will be involved.

‘New signee Lazarous Kambole will, after penning a three-year deal, join and meet his new teammates for the first time on Wednesday.

‘The new home-and-away jerseys for 2019-20 season will be unveiled before the Carling Black Label Cup,’ concluded the club.
