Kaizer Chiefs have announced the departure of young striker Sizwe Twala to GladAfrica Championship side Swallows FC.
The 22-year-old was promoted to the Amakhosi first team ahead of the current season after spending time with the reserve team last season.
Twala has been released by the club in an attempt to gain valuable game time, which will further aid his development. He will now join fellow Chiefs youngsters Itumeleng Shopane and Ayanda Rorwana at Swallows, who went out on loan to The Birds at the start of the campaign.
The Soweto-born striker struggled to break into Amakhosi’s starting lineup and failed to make a single appearance this campaign. He was an unused substitute for Chiefs’ first team in two Absa Premiership fixtures in back-to-back home wins over Baroka and Golden Arrows, back in September and October.
During his time with Amakhosi’s Multichoice Diski Challenge (MDC) team, Twala managed to find the back of the net on 11 occasions and finished the 2018-19 campaign as the reserve league’s joint top-scorer.
