Bobby Motaung says Kaizer Chiefs will utilise the Macufe Cup final tie against Bloemfontein Celtic to amend the mistakes of their loss against Baroka.
Chiefs head into the encounter against Phunya Sele Sele on the back of a 2-1 loss against table-toppers, Baggaga, who secured maximum points after goals by Lewis Macha and Gift Motupa condemned Chiefs to their second loss of the campaign.
Although, Motaung, highlighted that the weekend’s affair is all about ” community engagement through arts and culture”, he stressed the need to use the match as a dress-reherseal for upcoming PSL encounters against Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando pirates respectively.
‘This match will give our technical team a chance to rectify the mistakes we made in our last PSL fixture,’ Motaung told the club’s website.
‘It is also the FIFA break and we want to keep our match fitness in preparation for the upcoming tight fixture schedule.
‘All in all it’s about our community engagement through arts and culture.
‘We look forward to the match and it’s all systems go on our side. We just wish the entire festival success and for the people to enjoy peacefully.
‘Drive safe as “Arrive Alive” must be the order of the day,’ he concluded.
Komphela’s charges will take on Celtic at Free State Stadium on Sunday, with kick-off scheduled for 15h00.
The Glamour Boys calmed the Macufe Cup last season with a 4-1 thumping of Celtic in the final.
