Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the signing of Zambian striker Lazarous Kambole from Zambian outfit Zesco United.
The Zambian international was also linked with move to Soweto rivals Orlando and Baroka, but has since opted to put pen to paper on a three-year contract with Amakhosi.
The 25-year-old striker joins Amakhosi having established himself as one of the top marksmen in the Zambian Super League, while helping the Zambian national team win the 2019 Cosafa Cup in Durban this month.
Kambole is seen a replacement for Venezuelan striker Gustavo Paez, who was released by the club close to the end of the 2018-19 season.
The talented midfielder-cum-striker will now compete with the likes of Khama Billiat, Leonardo Castro and Bernard Parker for a starting berth in Amakhosi’s strike department next season.
Amakhosi announced that the club have captured the services of Kambole, releasing the following statement:
‘Kaizer Chiefs have agreed on a deal to sign Lazarous Kambole from Zesco United FC on a three-year contract.
‘Kambole is 25 years old and will join Amakhosi effectively on 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2022.
‘The talented midfielder-cum-striker was recently in the Zambian national squad that lifted the Cosafa Cup hosted in Durban.
‘Details of the unveiling of the player will be released in due course.’
