Kaizer Chiefs striker Leonardo Castro has lamented his side’s inability to hold on to a lead, admitting that they need guidance from coach Giovanni Solinas when trying to see out a game, writes DEAN WORKMAN.
The Soweto giants threw away a two-goal lead against Bloemfontein Celtic at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday evening, taking their total to seven goals conceded in the league.

The Glamour Boys also threw away their lead in the MTN8 semi-final first leg against SuperSport United last weekend, eventually drawing the game 2-2.
This form is in stark contrast to what Chiefs showed last season where they were solid in defence but struggled to find the back of the net.
Speaking to the media ahead of the Amakhosi’s semi-final second leg, Castro admitted that while things have improved going forward, the leaky defence is now proving to be the source of his frustration.

‘As strikers, scoring goals gives you confidence, but we can’t be conceding goals like that [the goals conceded against Celtic].
‘I feel frustrated until now, because we are winning the game. So, we are also supposed to read the game and close the game,’ said Castro while shaking his head in disappointment.
‘Sometimes this is also the job of the coach, he needs to help us.
‘So as players, we know what is happening, but at the end of the day, we can’t concede goals like that. It is stupid goals, the last game we made the same mistakes, same situation, same [type] of goals.
‘We can’t be conceding goals like this, we need to focus more on our defensive job because we can’t play the game like this,’ concluded Castro.
