Bernard Parker’s agent has confirmed that he will sit down with Kaizer Chiefs to discuss the future of the veteran forward.
Parker is just one of a number of current Amakhosi squad members who are set to see their current deals expire in July once the 2019-20 Absa Premiership season has concluded.
The Soweto giants have an option to extend Parker’s contract by one more year. Talks are set to start when they meet his agent, Mike Makaab of Prosport International, while they’re in Durban for this weekend’s Absa Premiership encounter with Golden Arrows.
He may be turning 34 in March, but the forward has missed just two games the whole season and played a big role in his side’s ascendance to the top of the Absa Premiership table. He has even worn the captain’s armband on a number of occasions.
Makaab told SoccerLaduma that they are hoping to finalise a deal soon.
‘Chiefs will be in Durban this week for their game against Arrows, and I’ll be sitting down with them to discuss Bernard’s future. He’s been a great servant to the club and he loves Kaizer Chiefs. Hopefully we can get something finalised for him soon,’ Makaab said.
