Cape Town City chairman John Comitis has confirmed that the club has opted against signing former Bidvest Wits midfielder Steven Pienaar.
Comitis consulted with coach Benni McCarthy last week as to whether or not the veteran midfielder would add value to his squad.
The CT City chairman has ruled out the possibility of signing Pienaar, who spent six months with the Clever Boys.
‘No, there’s nothing happening here today or tomorrow,’ Comitis told KickOff.com.
‘We are no longer pursuing the player [Pienaar]. We just decided we not gonna do it.’
The Mother City-based outfit has already bolstered their squad by signing the likes of Allan Kateregga, Kwanda Mngonyama, Surprise Ralani and Masoud Juma during the January transfer market.
