Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Marcelo Allende wants his side to win the DStv Premiership as soon as they possibly can by “winning as many games as possible”.
The Brazilians stretched their lead in the DStv Premiership to 12 points following their 2-0 win over Chippa United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.
Rulani Mokwena’s side have now extended their unbeaten run in the league to 41 matches thanks to goals from Teboho Mokoena and Tashreeq Mathews.
Chilean midfield maestro Allende has been ever present in the squad, having scored three goals and registered four assists in 29 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
“A very difficult game; the truth is, we complicated it with some mistakes we had in the first-half. We generated chances to secure the game in the first-half,” Allende told Sundowns’ Twitter page.
“This got better in the second-half. We improved a lot with the changes and they helped us a lot. So I am very happy with the victory and we continued adding points.
“Yes I believe that we have the capabilities to win the league as soon as possible by winning as many games as possible. That is what we set out to do as a team and that’s everyone’s goal.
“As I said in the first half, we made a lot of mistakes, which we are not used to, but we rectified them. We improved and we able to get the three points, which is very important.”
